Our Mission

The League Park Society, Inc. is dedicated to providing leadership, education, and advocacy to preserve, restore and revitalize League Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
Cleveland, Ohio - Baseball fans from around the United States have come together to start a new organization known as The League Park Society, Inc.(LPS). The League Park Society is a non profit corporation chartered in the State of Ohio that is dedicated to saving historic League Park in Cleveland, Ohio before the last few remaining pieces of this historic park disappear. The goals of The League Park Society, Inc. include spearheading efforts to preserve the remaining historic structures at the park and working with both public and private groups who want to rebuild the park and make it a vibrant part of Cleveland. Since May 2008 the League Park Society has been in contact with members of the private and public sectors to make this dream a reality. Our efforts include developing a new ballpark design and making more people aware of this campaign to save and restore League Park.

Among the baseball greats that played at League Park were Cy Young, Ty Cobb, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Tris Speaker, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jo DiMaggio, Bob Feller, Ted Williams and Lou Boudreau. League Park also served as a venue for the Negro Leagues hosting the Cleveland Buckeyes. The Buckeyes were the 1945 Negro League Champions.
